Therefore, making disciples, bringing hope to the poor destitutes and to develop the backward classes is our mission, commitment and vision. Transforming lives and nurturing communities innovatively and transcendantly.

"CHANGING PERSPECTIVE
  CHANGING Life"

7 Crucial Reasons

Why Make Disciples of All Nations?

McGinlianthang

1. We are call to be His Disciple, not just to be Christian

Jesus Christ called us to be His Disciple not to be a Christian. The word "Christian" is mention only three time in the Scripture. It is a shocking truth. Luke mention twice in Acts “And in Antioch the Disciples were first called Christians” (Acts 11:26). And Agrippa said to Paul, “In a short time would you persuade me to be a Christian?” (Acts 26:28). The last one is about suffering as a man of God "Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name" (1Pet. 4:16). The word "Disciple" is the original given name to us by Christ. Then why people called us Christian? It is simply because we are the followers of Jesus Christ. They (non-believer) may call us Christian but we must call ourselves Disciple of Jesus Christ. This doesn’t mean that the word "Christian" is a mere word. Both these words are crucial we use it interchangeably; sometime we used Christian in place of Disciple and Disciple in place of Christian. It is not a contrast word but we must learn to know when, how and where to use these words. Today mostly we call ourselves a Christian; knowingly or unknowingly we are ignoring the biblical pattern of God’s calling. This could be one of the cause factors for not fulfilling the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ. Within the Christian community you can use Disciple and outside the Christian community you can use Christian, because the outside world knows us as a Christian not as a Disciple. It has a similar meaning, we can’t deny either one, but we prefer to use the word ‘Disciple' because it is a stronger and has a deeper meaning. "Perhaps disciple is the stronger of the two because it inevitably implies the relationship of pupil to teacher." It is more appropriate to use ‘Disciple’ because it is rather stronger than the word Christian. Christ called us to be His Disciples not just to be a Christians, the apostles and all His other followers called themselves a Disciples. A true Christian learns from the Master and they become Disciples makers. Jesus Christ says, “Go therefore and make Disciples of all nations” (Matt. 28:19). He didn't say go and make Christians or converts. Being a disciple is living an authentic radical Christian life, and it is not cheap. "It is costly because it cause a man his life... It is costly because it condemns sin... About all it is costly because it cause God the life of his Son." The Scripture tell us to count the cost, take up the cross and follow Him daily with a self denying life,  unless one cannot be His disciple (Luk. 14:26-33). To deny one selves mean to love God more than ourselves.  "So the disciple is a follower of Christ whose love for him transcends all earthly loves." To this Christ call us by saying "follow me" (Matt. 4:19). Therefore, every pastors, elders and each individual Christian are call to make Disciples of all nations.

2. The Great Commission is to make Disciples, not to make a converts

The Great Commission is to make Disciples, not to make a converts “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make Disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matt. 28:18-20). On the other hand conversion is the work of the Holy Spirit, it is God part not us. Saying you are born again and giving baptism is not a conversion. True conversion takes place within the inner life. So today's church try to fulfil the 'Great Commission' by baptizing and converting, and the end result is producing many professing Christian. This is one of the cause factor of producing nominal Christian and a lukewarm church...

3. The 21st Century Christianity produced many professing Christian

The 21st Century Christianity is bombast with all sorts of the so called Christians, a people who professed to be a Christian and many Born-Christian (whose biological parents are a Christian) but Christ did not know them. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty work in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" (Matt. 7:21-23). What kind of people does your church and ministries produced? Do you realize the significance meaning of the word Disciple? Wake up, it is a high time to make Disciples within your church, family and community.

4. God want us to build His church not our own society and building

Today many Churches become an oriented society church; they focus on church building, church organization, church fund and growing church members. Many of their church members are not born again and they don’t even know the meaning of Discipleship. You call yourself a Christian and do not know what is mean to be a Disciple. What a shame… Christ build his church upon the rock and command us to make Disciples. "And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). Church mean a call out people, a chosen one, a people belonging to the Lord. Call out from the world. Every truly born again Christian are call to be a radical Disciples of Christ, they do not belong to the world but to God. Therefore, church is not a building but God's people. In other word building a church is making a disciples. In order to be a discipleship making church we must follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ.

5. Many leaders have the zeal, but without the knowledge of the truth

Many church leaders are ignorant about the central truth of the Bible; they lead and care their own church with head knowledge, without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. "They have zeal of God, but not according to knowledge" (Rom. 10:2). They don’t know how to give good food for their sheep. If they have had been a true Disciple they would have known what their master had commanded and would obey the word of God. A true Disciple learns from their master and they know what is best for their sheep. There are millions of mere Christian leaders around the world, who are not truly born again. Who learn from people not from the Master. The Scripture tell to "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves (Matt. 7:15). Leader must not teach superficially, not to teach things seem to be good and not to teach whatever he want but the word and the truth itself. Jesus Christ Himself is the word and truth. Remember Christ did not lack anything else "Seek and read from the book of the LORD: Not one of these shall be missing; none shall be without her mate. For the mouth of the LORD has commanded, and his Spirit has gathered them" (Isa. 34:16). When you preach and teach as far as possible let the word of God speak itself, to clarified and reveal your chosen text chose another verse or passages don't just share your imagination. The word is not in lack of anything. Construct together the word and expound it, by doing this you will learn and teach more of the truth and you can become a better fruitful teacher to the church.

6. Making Discipleship is more than an Evangelism

Evangelism involved preaching the Gospel but discipleship is the whole being of a Christian hearing, learning, providing, equipping, serving and teaching. These are the pattern of Christ to make His Disciple. That is why we can say Discipleship cover the whole being of the Christian living. Therefore, we are to make sure every single disciple become authentic follower of Jesus Christ. We are a Disciples of Christ, by the time we mature in Christ, we become a Discipler. A Disciple who make a Disciples. That doesn't mean that we don't need to do evangelism. No, not at all, evangelism is the first step of making discipleship that is the Master plan of making discipleship.

7. Global churches are losing their light and salt

Take a good look the global churches many have lost their salt and light. A true Disciple always produce fruits, these day the church lost their light and salts, it is not because they stop evangelism but they stop to multiplier a Disciples. Once again we need to inspire, ignite and bring transformational revival to the global churches by making Disciples to all nations. Are you ready? Together we could fulfill the great commission of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. So let us go and make an authentic Disciples of Christ. Bringing the Good News and hope to the lost world.

Conclusion
